Paul
wrote in Colossians 3:23-24 “Whatever
you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, no for
men, since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as
a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving.” Sometimes
I think that people look at Christ as there employer, not their Father.
The difference is we tend to serve our employer out of duty, and because
our paycheck is dependant on our work for our employer. And so I think
sometimes we see God like that. Like maybe we think, “If I don’t work
for God I will not get my paycheck and my retirement program. I will not
get blessings on earth, and I will not get to go to heaven.” Nothing
could be further from the truth. The truth is everything we do, eat,
drink, sleep, work etc… we should be doing as working for the Lord. Why?
Because we serve a loving Father out of love for Him. Not because we want
something from Him or even are scared of Him, but because we love Him. As
we start this New Year, I want us to think about something, are we
serving, every day of our lives, out of a raging love for Jesus, or are we
serving God the Employer? One will leave you happy and content, and the
other will leave you angry and sullen. Happy
New Year guys! I love you and have a great week! Pastor

believe and are saved. Hebrews
