Good Monday Mornin'!
Job 12:7-8 says. . .
But ask the animals, and they will teach you, or the birds of the air, and
they will tell you; or speak to the earth, and it will teach you, or let
the
fish of the sea inform you.
Back in August there was a puppy born. Her mama had complications and the
puppy was born by c-section, and was not expected to live. But she was
petted and loved and before you knew it she was moving around and growing.
And on that day I was given one of the greatest gifts anyone has ever
given
me. Jeff and Jennifer gave me my blue heeler puppy Latigo.
She is so cool. When I get up in the morning she sits at my feet in the
kitchen while I fix my coffee and then give her a bone. When I go down to
my
office she gets under my desk and lies at my feet. When I go to bed she
gets
in the bed with me and lies behind my legs. She rides in the truck with me
anywhere I can take her. She is the best dog and I learn so much from her.
I, for one, believe that God speaks to us through all kinds of
circumstances, but I fully believe that He speaks through His creation and
teaches us through His creation. The Scripture referenced today in Job
verifies that. And so I look for lessons in everything that I see,
especially creation. And Latigo teaches me more about God than I ever
could
have imagined.
First she teaches me about God's loyalty. The thing that amazes me about
Latigo is that she is loyal to me and follows me everywhere I go. When I
leave a room she goes with me, and if she can't go with me she will sit
there and wait until I come back! She just wants to be with me. Now for
those of you who are going to say that I am comparing God with a dog, once
again, I am not desecrating the Name of our Savoir, but I see His
character
in her. God is always with us, always loyal, and never leaves us. And when
we venture off somewhere into places where we turn from Him and leave Him,
He is right there waiting on us to come back.
Second I learn of God's unfailing love. From the first day I saw that pup
I
loved her. And you know what? I think she loved me too. I remember when
she
was just big enough to get around and walk with her eyes open, I would go
over to Jeff and Jennifer's house and she would lay at my feet. When I
don't
treat her as good as I should, she still loves me. When I don't pay her as
much attention, she still loves me. When I forget to fill up her water
bowl,
she comes carrying it into the living room, but she still loves me. When I
can't take her with me in the truck, she still loves me. She loves me
unconditionally just like God does. There are so many of us are walking
around life thinking that we have out sinned God's love. We think that
because we have done something or didn't do something, said something we
shouldn't have or went somewhere we shouldn't have, God is mad at us or is
withholding His love from us. Nothing could be further from the truth!
God's
love is unconditional, that means that no matter where you go and what you
do He will always love you.
Like is said earlier, I believe that God had taught me something through
Lati that a preacher or teacher could not have taught me, but I was
looking.
Before I wrap up let me ask you, are you looking for God to speak to you?
Through every day circumstances are you looking and expecting Him to speak
to you? If you will, He will!
I love you all... have a great week!
