Good Monday Mornin'!

Hey everybody! I know that I have talked before about catching horses, but I
want to talk to you about three aspects of catching horses that goes along
with our relationship to God today.

2 Samuel 14:14 says. . .

Like water spilled on the ground, which cannot be recovered, so we must die.
But God does not take away life; instead, he devises ways so that a banished
person may not remain estranged from him.

As I have told you before, the key to catching a horse is to make it so
uncomfortable away from me that he or she wants to be with me. Now that
takes pressure. There are many ways that we devise pressure, some of them
good some of them not so good. A few ways are if the horse is in a big
pasture I have been know to run them with a four wheeler, a little less than
orthodox I understand, but another was is to put pressure on them by
twirling my rope at their rear end and making them move. Horses are kind of
lazy by nature and understand that movement is work. So the point I am
trying to get across to that horse is that being away from me means work,
and being with me means peace.

Now I know you guys are intelligent and already see the correlation in what
I am trying to say. When we are away from God, or running from God things
stay in an uproar, nothing seems to go right. But when we are close to God
and living in His purpose things are peaceful. Hopefully you all know what I
am talking about. Today I want to point out three reasons why I want to
catch the horse, and also three reasons God wants to "catch" you.

1. I want to catch that horse to give it life. You see a horse that cannot be caught is useless. I had a palomino once that would not let anyone catch him. He would run and run and would not let you near him even with feed. I sold him to a lady that tried to fix him but she had no luck as well. Finally she sold him to a guy that eventually had to send him off to slaughter. I know that is awful, but the fact remains if I cannot catch a horse they are no good for anything. You see God wants you to have a life today. Jesus said in John 10:10, I have come so that they may have life and have it to the full. He is not trying to give you a life some
day; He is trying to give you a life today. The best most peaceful life you
can live is a life inside of Christ.

2.  I want to catch that horse to help it fulfill its purpose. Every person has a purpose in this life. And when I have a horse I am training there is a purpose for the training. Some will run barrels, some will rope, and some will just ride people around. One lady just wanted to be able to bathe her horse! No matter what the purpose, even if it is just to be a pet, there is purpose! Each and every one of you has a purpose in the Kingdom of God, and God wants to "catch" you so that He can help you fulfill that purpose.

3. I want to catch that horse to have a relationship. Finally there is the relational side. I have a black filly at the house named Belle. I never thought that I could love a horse so much. When I come to the barn she meets me there, when I go to catch her she meets me half way across the pasture. We have a relationship. She loves me and I love her. You see God wants you to have a relationship with Him. Jesus in Mark 3 refers to us as His family! He wants to be in relationship with you and me.

Being a Christian is not easy; it requires work and dedication to the cause
of Christ. But when you catch yourself running from God always remember the
peace is within Him and He wants you to give you life, a purpose and a
relationship.

I love you guys, have a great week.
