Good
Monday Mornin!
There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under
heaven
... Ecclesiastes 3:1
I absolutely love cold weather. My best days are when I wake up and it is
about 25 or so and it does not get any warmer than say 50. I thrive in
that
kind of weather. I love getting up to a hot cup of coffee, I love fires, I
love snow, I love Christmas! I love everything about winter and the cold
weather, and so this time of year when it starts to go away I have a
certain
sadness, not really sadness, but longing for the cold weather to stay.
However, I love to see the green grass coming back, to see the trees green
up and the horses winter coats give away to that pretty, slick summer
coat,
I love all of those things too. So I guess it is kind of a two edge sword.
In order for things to grow and flourish there has to be season changes,
things cannot remain the same all the time or everything would die.
Just as the weather must continually change in order for the earth to
thrive, so God must take your life and mine through seasons so that we can
grow, so that new life in us can flourish. And although there are seasons
of
our lives that we wish could stay and never change, we must trust and
believe that God has something better for us in the upcoming season.
Now each of us is in a season of life. Some of us are in the summer,
things
are pretty, things are warm happy joyful, we are loving life and all seems
right with the world. Some of us are in fall, not sure what is happening,
but realizing that things are starting to die, things are starting to
decompose. Maybe its old sin, maybe you are dying to self, or maybe its
just
a habit, but fall brings death. Some of us are in winter. Everything is
cold
and dead. We feel trapped and don't have enough sun light. We feel certain
that it will never end, that there is no end in sight. And then some of us
are in spring. Things are starting to grow, winter has ended, and summer
is
just around the corner. But no matter who you are, you are in one of these
seasons of life.
What I want you to take from this though is that no one season can last
forever. In order for there to be growth and vitality there has to be a
change of seasons. We must embrace the change that God is doing in our
hearts so that we can grow. Trust me, if we will not move He will not let
us
stay where we are. God loves us to much to let us stay like we are. He is
calling us every day to look more like Jesus, and in order to do that we
must be willing to embrace change.
I love you guys, have a great week!

But we are not of those who shrink back and are destroyed, but of those
who
believe and are saved.
