Good Monday Mornin!
For God did not give us a spirit of timidity, but a spirit of power,
of love
and of self - discipline 2 Timothy 1:7
Down at the barn there is a board that keeps the horses from getting into
the barn. It is only a 2x6 about three foot long or so. It rests in
another
board on one side and just slides over on the other. Nothing holding it,
nothing latching it, just a board laying in the door. This board is meant
to
keep the horses out of the barn. And if the board every does not get put
back where it belongs, the horses get in the barn and then out in mine and
Cory's yard. So this board is a very important board, but there is a funny
thing about this board.
Like I said on the one side the board slides into the wall, but on the
other
side it just sets in kind of a cradle built out of three 2x4's I know its
hard to visualize but I tell you that because a little 3ft long or so 2x6
that weighs, oh I don't know, seven or eight pounds, stops a 1200lb horse
from getting where he or she wants to go! That is crazy isn't it? A little
board stops a huge horse from getting to its goal. It would be the
equivalency of a piece of 4lb test fishing line stopping me from getting
into my food pantry. Its crazy! But yet it works.
The reason why the board works is simple, the horse gives a little push on
it with his or her chest, they meet a bit of resistance, and figure that
they just cant push through it, they figure themselves defeated. But the
truth is, one of those horses back there could push the whole barn over if
they wanted to! So where am I going with this? Glad you asked.
As a pastor one of the things that I see over and over every day is people
who have never realized the power that they have inherited through the
Spirit of God. We walk up to things and push on them and when they don't
move we just walk away defeated. But the truth of the matter is you and I
have the power of the Almighty God living in us! There is nothing we
cannot
do with Christ as our Power Source! There is only one thing I want you to
remember this week.
Realize you are bigger than your problem through the power of Christ. Paul
wrote in Philippians, "I can do all things through Him [Christ] that
gives
me strength." When you accepted Christ as your Lord and Savior no
longer are
you doing things by your own power, but the Power of Christ in you is
doing
them. But the thing is, just like that horse, you have to choose to use
that
power. Live in the Power of Christ and nothing, and I mean NOTHING can
stop
you from living a victorious life!
I love you all. . . Have a great week.
